In honor of tomorrow's recital in Philly - a folksong setting that will not be on tomorrow's program...
I also came across this sweet picture of a young Benjamin Britten the other day - it looks like it could be his high school senior picture:

If I'm going to show Benjamin's Senior Picture (actually, I think he's 20 years old in that picture), I feel that I must be fair and show mine, too:
I must admit - I think Mr. Britten looks sharper and much more put together than I did...

Admiring your sensitive, beautifully sung rendition of Winter Words on your debut solo recording. You (and your accompanist) have scored a home run, I'd say, first time at bat. Looking forward to more . . .

Wow! Many thanks, David - I am so happy you are enjoying it!
That was a lovely recital. I enjoyed the program at Weill, but it seems to me your performance has gotten even richer since then. I was particularly gripped by the Michelangelo Sonnets--I've been struggling with them as a listener for a while, and last night was the first time I felt that I'd gotten inside them. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Janet! I really appreciate that - both Myra and I have enjoyed the amount of time that this program has had to grow over the past year and half since we started putting it together. I'm so excited to hear that the time we have spent with it and the hard work we've put into it comes across. Thank you so much for coming last night!
